Yulia Rosenberg

Yulia is a Portfolio Manager, team lead for Rosenberg Dri Financial Group. She brings over 20 years of experience in capital markets. Prior to Scotia Wealth Management, Yulia was a Vice President with Connor Clark & Lunn ($70 billion asset management fund) advising institutional clients, families and foundations. Prior to that, Yulia was an Investment Banker helping private companies go public and grow by acquisition (over $10 billion in transactions) and at Merrill Lynch she navigated clients through the tech bubble in the early 2000s.

Yulia has an extensive background in mathematics and finance and completed both Bachelor of Commerce (B.Comm) and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degrees at the Rotman School of Management (University of Toronto) and has additional professional qualifications including: WME I & II, CSC, DFC, OLC, EMPD. Yulia also received a Best of the Best award from Scotia Wealth Management in 2020.

In addition to taking care of her clients, Yulia is raising her two sons with her husband and is keenly involved in the community, serving on the Art Gallery of Ontario Corporate Development Board, ORT Toronto committee and Upper Canada College Parent Organization.

The professional bio

Richard is a Senior Wealth Advisor and Portfolio Manager of the Rosenberg Dri Team at Scotia Wealth Management. Richard is a Certified Financial Planner, a Chartered Investment Manager and an accredited Family Enterprise Advisor.

Richard writes a weekly blog on total wealth planning, investment strategies and life topics. His current book, ‘Introduction to the Investment Mindset,’explains how  emotions can be the biggest threat to achieving financial freedom.

In his free time, Richard cycles the hills north of Toronto and, during the winter months, he mentors his daughter’s hockey career.

The personal bio

Richard began his entrepreneurial career in high school when he founded his first business, Windsor Mowers, a landscaping service. The income from this company paid for his university tuition and extra income was invested in Canadian stocks.

His passion for business led to two additional start-ups: a family real estate holding company and, later, a financial planning firm called (Strategic Financial Management Group).

Today, Richard is focused on helping entrepreneurs leverage their strengths as they face their own unique dangers and opportunities. Based on many hours of conversations with clients from a wide range of industries, Richard provides valuable advice that most entrepreneurs cannot obtain anywhere else.

The family bio

Richard married his high school sweetheart, sadly, after 33 happy and loving years, Mary passed away from Ovarian cancer. He has two adult sons, one daughter and one daughter in law.

Richard lives with his daughter in beautiful mid Toronto.

Ashley Land, CIM

Ashley has over 14 years’experience in the financial services industry, and most recently celebrated her ten year anniversary with Scotia Wealth Management.

Ashley holds her Certified Investment Management designation as well as her Canadian Securities and Life Insurance licenses.

Ashley is an active team member in the Dri Financial Group, offering excellent service and on-going client support.

In her free time, Ashley enjoys reading, running marathons, practicing yoga and spending time outdoors with her family.

Ashley began her love of finance at a young age, and learned the importance of saving and planning. Ashley now uses her experiences to educate others on topics of personal finance through her blogs and monthly podcasts.

Ashley loves to be active, and her love of running and travel has led her to complete six international marathons so far.

Ashley lives in Etobicoke with her supportive husband of over 15 years, her two busy boys and her fun-loving Saint Bernard.

In her spare time, Ashley can often be found at the local hockey arena cheering on her boys or running along the waterfront trial.

Ashley is actively involved in her community, participating in and supporting local initiatives such as fundraising for her kids hockey teams, sponsoring local events and volunteering at her children’s school.

Lora Shapiro, CIM

Lora has made her career in wealth management since 2007. She has an undergraduate degree, and has completed several courses through the Canadian Securities Institute. Lora is Options and Derivatives licensed, and maintains her Certified Investment Management designation. In the continued pursuit of professional growth, she is currently focused on completing her Certified Financial Planner designation.

Lora maintains an active and healthy life-style, and practices heavy weightlifting to be fit.

In 2005, Lora decided to transition her efficient and personable skills from the public sector to the private sector. She has dedicated her time and energy to building a successful career helping clients protect and grow their savings. Currently, Lora also uses her valuable expertise to educate new and prospective clients on matters of personal finance through blogs, podcasts, and webinars.

Lora was born in Germany, and raised in Israel until the age of 12, when she emigrated to Canada. She resides in Toronto with her spouse, their two children, and a pet canine.

Alex Rochtchine, CFP, CLU, PFP, CIM®

Alex Rochtchine

As a Total Wealth Planner, Alex is responsible for guiding our clients through our Total Wealth Planning process, which begins with a thoughtful consideration of their entire financial picture, immediate needs, and goals for the future. With a clear understanding of our clients’ unique financial situation, Alex collaborates with our team of specialists to develop a customized Total Wealth Plan that is comprehensive, forward-looking, and tailored to help each client reach their financial goals. Through an evolving Total Wealth Plan, Alex works with our clients to help them achieve future success – as they define it.

Alex is an accredited professional having earned his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®), Personal Financial Planner (PFP), and Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designations and is a graduate of McMaster University with a Bachelor of Commerce. He brings over ten years of experience in the financial services industry.

Alex’s passions include arts and cooking, and he enjoys exploring different cultures through travel.

Justin Ecclestone, HBA, TEP, QAFP

Estate and Trust Consultant

As an Estate and Trust Consultant, Justin is responsible for providing advice and guidance to clients for their Will and estate planning strategies. Clients benefit from customized tax-considered strategies that align their investment, retirement, philanthropic and estate plans to help safeguard financial well-being into the next generation.

A graduate of the Wealth Management Associate Program, Justin has experience across multiple areas of Scotia Wealth Management’s extensive Total Wealth services. Justin obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts (HBA) from Ivey Business School at Western University. He also holds the Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation and is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). Outside of work, Justin can be found at his club’s tennis and squash courts.

Fiona received a degree in Finance from Peking University and a diploma in Business Administration and Management from Laurentian University. She holds a Charted Life Underwriter (CLU) designation and is Life Licensed in the Province of Ontario.
